Released in 1990, Mom I missed the plane is without a doubt one of the most iconic films of Christmas. It tells the adventures of Kevin McCallister (played by actor Macaulay Culkin), a young boy who finds himself alone at home during the end of year holidays because his parents have forgotten him before going on a trip to Paris.
Kevin must then face two burglars who decided to attack his house, but that was without counting on the malice of the young boy who invented a whole series of traps to repel them.
To pay tribute to this legendary film that has marked an entire generation, the artist The Flippist had the idea to create a flipbook which summarizes in less than a minute the different pitfalls imagined by young Kevin to repel the two burglars. As a reminder, the flipbook (in french foliscope) is an animation technique that consists of quickly rotating different pages of a book for an often impressive result.
This very inspired flipbook therefore shows the different pitfalls facing the clumsy Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marvin (Daniel Stern) : from the iron through the hot door handle, slippery stairs or the terrible mygale ... A beautiful animation which will undoubtedly remind you of good memories of winter, spent on the couch by the fire watching this great classic of Chris Columbus.

The booby trap scene from Home Alone is coming soon, it's turning a flipbook was natural! It especially works great with the amazing sound effects. This film was made in the past, so it was a lot of fun. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you! Thanks for watching 🙂

And if you liked the idea, you can also discover the other flipbooks imagined by The Flippist, which specializes, as the name suggests, in the design of small animated books. We had him devoted an article on his creations last September. You can also go on his Instagram to learn more about his art.
