Why just paint on a canvas when you can do anything and everything? A mantra that our artist of the day has obviously adopted and force is to note that it succeeds rather well. Originally from Japan, Akie Nakata is an artist passionate about animals.
But do not think she just draws or paints them. No, the peculiarity of our artist is to paint on shingle to turn them into rather realistic versions ofanimals of all kinds. Akie Nakata admits to finding his pebbles and shingle during long walks. She favors the smooth stones that she picks up and then offers them a second life in the form of animals.
Depending on the shape of the pebble, the artist will be inspired by this or that animal species: the fox, the owl, the cat, the pigeon, the tiger. Of course, painting directly on a stone can bring a real relief to creation, which seems much more alive only if they were simple illustrations lying on paper. Akie Nakata expresses himself on his art:
The natural form of the rock is for me an infinite source of inspiration. I never touch the shape of the stone, I adapt my creations to pebbles that I pick up.
